The Freehold Township Heritage Society takes pride in promoting the history and physical remnants of our past.
The Freehold Township Township Heritage Society is dedicated to raising funds for the preservation of historic buildings in Freehold Township.
The Oakley Farm Museum was operated by the Oakley family since 1911. The original house dates back to 1686. It is one of the few houses left standing after
the Battle of Monmouth, as its owners at the time were loyalists. It is said that the house was a stopping off point for the Underground Railroad. The house was accepted
for inclusion on the state of New Jersey & the National Registers of Historic Places in 1990.
